World Wide Awakening Creates a Universal World

The Age of Aquarius (album)Image via WikipediaBy Barbara Colby

We are in an evolutionary period, much like the Renaissance of old. Like the Renaissance, in fifteenth century Europe, we're seeing a humanistic revival. It is distinguished by vigorous activity of action that supports a transitional movement. The Millennium, or "New Age," speaks to individuality in thought, action and behavior. Events in the Middle Ages set in motion a series of social, political, and intellectual transformations, and were the driver behind the Renaissance.

Then, as now, there is creative action taking place. You don't have to be a forecaster to know this is true. Your eyes and ears tell you it's true. Just listen to the TV or read a daily newspaper that reports on Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Egypt, Pakistan and China.

Even in our own country, in the state of Wisconsin, public voices want to be heard on their individualistic ideals. Systems of yesterday no longer work; therefore, people are beginning to seek out better value systems and new truths to make their new value systems work. These new truths are creating an epoch of inner values, which in turn brings about an inward journey for an individual. Because of the risk and stress, this type of struggle is bound to set in motion the wheels that create a health breakdown.

It's a complex time of involution (a shift). Those things that will be affected in our society today are the natural environment, ideas, social movement, ethics, education, and healthcare. The root of these changes will come from a higher consciousness, and a desire to create a new and better type of reality. Our civilization stands on the brink of making some of its most important changes. We need to feel better, look better, live longer, and heal our body through more natural methods. We're a part of a worldwide awakening.

It is a delicious thing to watch history in the making and the reshaping of ideas, ideals, ethics, and values. In the future, our changing attitude toward good health and the feeling of well being will be the impetus that creates a new path away from conventional medicine. The future is no accident; it comes from condensing what you see, hear, and read. Trends come from the foundation of changing attitudes, needs, demands, the economy, global barriers being lowered, influences of cultural offerings in the marketplace, and lifestyle changes.

This is the dawn of the Aquarian Age. It represents an oneness, an equality, and humanity to mankind. New Age simply means the beginning of a meaningful cycle. The Age of Aquarius is represented with originality, independence and universalism. It will herald new philosophies that will save the world from destruction. The world will become one universal world.

Let Us Encourage Brands Like Pikolinos In Their Environment Conservation Efforts

Rapid industrialisation and development has come at a price. On one hand we have the advantage and convenience of using so many new products that have been developed over the years but at the same time, their development has also led to compromise of the environment and we are now faced with a situation of increased carbon footprint as well as global warming increasing pretty fast.

In these times, it is our duty to encourage companies that are focused on producing items that give back more to the environment than taking from it and in this regard, the brand Pikolinos with its emphasis on manufacturing shoes and other footwear products keeping environment considerations in mind deserves credit and should be encouraged by customers.

This brand that came into existence in the 1980s has been successful in maintaining high quality as well as introducing innovative designs on its footwear but has at the same time been aware of its responsibilities towards environment conservation. One example can be seen in the manner in which the company makes use of naturally occurring casein milk rather than artificial resins when treating leather that is used to make the shoes. This natural substance not only enhances the final look of the product but also provides effective ventilation.

Pikolinos Shoes also continue to use leather without any treatment of chrome and they ensure that they always use natural raw material to make the soles and other parts of the shoes that are likely to come apart. When they do break down, there is no damage to the environment. The chemicals used are also those that have been tested for their safety and consideration towards minimal environment damage. What's more the company does not restrict itself to just the manufacturing process. It makes sure that even the delivery boxes containing the shoes are made out of cardboard that has been recycled. All this care has enabled them to get the prestigious European Eco certification and that is really a very commendable achievement.

If you have any apprehensions about the durability of the footwear products made by Pikolinos, due to their emphasis on using natural raw materials, then just cast them aside. They have in place highly time tested processes that make best use of high quality leather along with craftsmanship, including hand-sewn methods that are used whenever required to produce the very best of comfortable and durable footwear.

The variety of footwear on offer by Pikolinos is equally impressive. There are boots, slip-ons, and trainers and so on for both men and women with enough choice of colours. However, the more popular among all of them has been the very effective winter boots. These boots are of different lengths and feature high quality shearling lining along with soft leather uppers and rubber soles for effective gripping on any surface. You have the choice of both buttons as well as zippers for the right fit and comfort.

El Naturalista - A Responsible Corporate Citizen

It is heartening to know that there exist companies that believe in doing business by observing and doing their utmost from a corporate social responsibility perspective. One such company having its roots in Spain is El Naturalista which is in the business of making shoes.

This company has the advantage of originating from an area in Spain that has been well known over the years for their skills in making stylish and fashionable footwear. The company has carried this tradition forward and every product that is made by them carries the stamp of excellence and the ultimate in craftsmanship. They have a wide range of boots, sandals, and clogs on offer and the main features remain comfort as well as durability.

What is however striking about the company or the brand is their focus on the environment. In these days of rampant environmental degradation by many companies more keen on adding to their bottom line at any cost, El Naturalista comes as a breath of fresh air. The company is very particular about the raw materials they use and how they discharge effluents. Whether it is chemicals or packaging, the accent is on using biodegradable and recyclable stuff and that culture has been nurtured by the company within all its employees as well.

For example, the company makes use of river stones as well as tree barks along with dyes from vegetable sources for their tanning and dying requirements. This is one of the best examples of eco-friendly manufacturing in any part of the world and El Naturalista can be justifiably proud of their philosophy and commitment to the environment.

Another heartening feature is their philanthropic initiative in returning some percentage of the profits made by the company towards lesser privileged people. They support global community initiatives for building educational institutions, sanitation facilities in Africa and so on. The company believes in a 'Code of Conduct' that will monitor each aspect of its sourcing, manufacturing and marketing activities to ensure that they are all above board and in consonance with high ethical standards. Truly, these are things that most other companies will do well to emulate and follow.

El Naturalista has also put in place very good human rights initiatives such as not employing child labour, not discriminating anybody just because they happen to belong to a particular race or culture or even sexual orientation. The company also has a very secure and healthy work place environment that promotes freedom of thought and expression. It is not a wonder that happy and healthy employees are willingly contributing to the growth of the company.

The company has selected the frog as its brand emblem and fittingly so. The frog is truly one amphibian that values both land and water bodies. Customers buying the El Naturalista brand can take pride in their decision that they have chosen to support a brand that is following high ethical and environment conservation practices and that is indeed saying a lot for any company in today's times.
